Laminated / Sentry glass is two or more panes of glass with one or more layers of polyvinyl butyral (PVB)/Sentry sandwiched between them and treated. Laminated glass doesn't shatter like ordinary glass. Laminated glass offers greater protection for people and property by providing an effective barrier from attach. It absorbs impact, resists penetration and remains in glazing even if broken. It will not disintegrate readily when exposed to heat, so it confines the fire longer, giving more time for evacuation and control of the fire.
The most secure form of glass possible, LACO SAFE+ is a laminated glass unit constructed with interlayers sourced only from two manufacturers – Kuraray and Eastman, reinforcing our zero compromise on quality policy. These units are assembled in one of two ways – nip-rolled or vacuum treated. Post assembly, the units are autoclaved to complete the bonding process. For added levels of safety, SentryGlass is the preferred choice of interlayer, and extremely thin and light constructions are possible with its use. LACO SAFE+ is also available with special sound control interlayers for enhanced acoustic insulation.
